Title: Need help setting up email alert
Post by: allstate on April 11, 2010, 09:34:37 AM
Hi all,

I have setup my SMTP information under the properties of Computer Catalog...  I have created a new alert and added my email address to the SMTP section of the alert.  When I hit the "TEST" button, I get this message

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
The alert cannot be sent.

What other settings are there to setup email alerts in ADNM?

Thanks

i guess its your e-mail server that is refusing the connection

I'm having a similar problem.

I have setup the email alerts, but when I try testing it says "Unknown error" "Alert cannot be sent".

The weird thing about this is the same settings used on a client and not the ADNM work fine, and the they work in the server client too.  Test email goes through fine I seem to only get the error in the ADNM tool.

I put in a ticket, but it was closed with no response.  I'm testing this program as a possible replacement for my business.

Regards,

Frank

Where are you configuring your email settings?

In the "Computer Catolog Properties" or in the ADNM "Settings"?

both for me.

the settings from the Computer catalog pass down to the clients fine, and you can setup individual alerts for a client no problem, and they test and work fine.

But if you set up the alert in the ADNM tool you get an error.  It boggles the mind that it works fine even on the server client on the server with ADNM installed but not within the manager tool itself.
