Title: UPDATE Avast! Home Edition
Post by: Lo_HacKer on July 10, 2004, 11:05:06 PM
When I must install a new version of avast! antivirus:

before, I must erase the old version of avast and then install the new version,
or I can only run the new avast! file(.exe) and (overwrite) the old?
Could you tell me a solution?

Sorry for my english!!(I'm a boy)

Thank you.  :-\

Lo_Hacker Welcome to these forums...

You can just invoke avast! program or iAvs update by doing this:

1.) go and RIGHT (right mouse button) click blue circled avast! icon right next to your system clock.
2.) Then choose UPDATING
3.) Then choose iAvs update or program update, depends on what do you want to update...

I hope this helps !

Cheers !

When I must install a new version of avast! antivirus:
Avast is updated twice a week, but if you set it to autoupdate, then you won't need to worry about it.
Avast will overwrite whatever files it needs to update the virus database AND the program (whenever a new version is released).
