Hi,
I've just installed Avast 4 on an XP system and all is working fine but I'm not keen on the boot time scan. Is it possible to disable this?
TIA,
Lawrence

The boot-time scan should be performed only once after you schedule it (unless you schedule it again, of course). It keeps repeating on every boot for you? What version (build) of avast! do you have?

Try to schedule it, for the second time, I mean, twice, one after another.
On the second, you will receive a warning that there is a scheduled scan and ask if you want to disable it...
Can you try?
Wellcome to forums.
Edit: sorry, Igor was faster ;D

Thanks for the rapid replies guys. Problem solved now.
It did the scan first time I rebooted. Then when I looked to see how to stop it I must have set up a new boot scan!
I didn't touch avast before last reboot and so it didn't do the boot scan this time.
Thanks alot for the rapid replies.
