Title: Newbie avast! user with Mozilla Firefox
Post by: crashlbg on May 16, 2010, 11:57:47 PM
I was told that avast! is one of the best free anti-virus programs around.  My problem is that now that I've installed it, I am unable to connect to the internet through my Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3 web browser.  I'm sure there is a way to configure avast! to work with Firefox, but I haven't been able to figure it out.  I have Windows XP.  Before I change anti-virus software, I thought I would ask here if anyone knows what to do in my situation.
Many thanx... Lisa

First I'd suggest to edit your post and remove your email address from there. Spambots are scouring here.
Second - any firewall in use/which one? If you disable the web shield, can you connect via FF?

What other AV was installed prior to Avast, and what firewall do you use?
Can IE connect to the web?
