Title: script error when starting Avast
Post by: vizkoze on July 16, 2004, 01:58:22 PM
When I installed Avast, everything went fine, everything works OK but... When I start the main program by double clicking the icon on my desktop, a little windows pops up for newbie help.
There is an option on that page that says :"Don't show this window next time."

when I click on that option I get an error message, screencapture is attached.
*edit: seems like screencapture isnt showing,
error message says :
! an error occured in the script of this page
line: 220
char: 26
error: Object doesn't support this property or method
code: 0
URL: mk:@MSITStore:C\Programfiles\Alwil software\Avast\English\Help\ChecklistSimple.chm:/checklist.htm
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
YES/NO

Can someone help me on thisone?

Greets

Try to delete the the checklistsimple.chm file (or even all the files in C:\Program Files\ALWIL Software\avast4\English\Help folder). Then, invoke an avast! update (Program or iAVS, it shouldn't make any difference). The deleted files should be restored... would this help?
