Title: Network Issues after Upgrade
Post by: andylaurence on May 22, 2010, 10:38:08 AM
I've inherited a system that was protected with a centrally managed version of Avast.  Sadly, the password has been lost over time and the system is no longer managable.  I tried various things, as suggested on this forum, to get back into the management console, to no avail.  I ended up uninstalling the management console.  I've tried to uninstall the clients but I required the password to do so.  I used the uninstall utility to remove the software but it's not done so cleanly - there are still registry entries and a service that I cannot manage.  When installing Avast 5 Pro manually, the networking becomes unstable.  Users are not able to consistently save to network shares.  They're all running Vista with the latest updates.

Is there a way of cleanly uninstalling the product?  I get the feeling I will be re-installing these clients, which is a good bit of work I'd rather not do!
