I tried searching for similar problems here, but wasn't sure what terms to use.
Husband spent last couple weeks cursing at Norton.
Persuaded him to dump Norton and install Avast, which I've been happy with for several years now.
He did that last night.
Since then, he's twice had the computer freeze when attempting to change user accounts (he has two, one with work stuff, one with personal stuff), necessitating a hard reboot.
Dell desktop, Win XP.
Is this a known problem, and what advice do you folks have?
What further information do you need? I can get it later tonight when he's not home. Right now, he's sufficiently aggravated that it would be unwise to try monkeying with things.
I'm reasonably intelligent (horse doctor) but not a computer pro.
