I was trying to boot with the BART CD on a few laptops using an USB CD Drive... all failed...
It's too bad....
-
Can you boot any other CD using this drive?
-
Yes. I tried with Win XP and Win 7 CD and they worked.
-
Maybe a limitation of the BART CD to boot with USB drives? ???
Only the programmers could say something (or other user in the same situation). Sorry.
-
I tried the BART CD on a number of laptops using USB CD/DVD DRIVE and they ALL failed to start............. $$$ wasted.
-
It should be better on the system requirements...
-
Great. I downloaded the AVG Antivirus CD and that is a better product than this BART CD. Thanks.

AVG CD does not have all the BART CD features.
The intention of AVG CD is just to clean infections.
Read the instructions, download and burn (maybe from another computer), finally use one of this rescue CD's:
1. Dr. Web (http://www.freedrweb.com/livecd/?lng=en)
2. Avira (http://www.free-av.com/en/tools/12/avira_antivir_rescue_system.html)
3. BitDefender (http://download.bitdefender.com/rescue_cd/)
4. Kaspersky (http://dnl-eu10.kaspersky-labs.com/devbuilds/RescueDisk/)
5. F-Secure (http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/07/26/free-f-secure-rescue-cd-300-to-clean-virus-from-unbootable-windows/)

I can't pirate my BART CD key.
The other CDs don't need a key, they're free.

I would like to add two rescue cd's to the list.
Vba32 Rescue (http://www.anti-virus.by/en/vba32rescue.shtml)
G Data BootCD (https://www.gdatasoftware.com/support/main-subjects/upgrade-service/download.html)

i got an external usb cd/dvd player and i thought to try it out....
i burned the updated iso to the disk
i booted a laptop with Win7 x32 on it and i got until the Alwil screen where it is loading the BART cd further there the program spontaniously rebooted.
then i put the disc into the normal drive from the laptop.... also there it did not reboot....
if the loading is running succesful then you will be asked which keyboard layout you like to use, this question doesnt appear when i booted from usb drive.
now i will go to an XP station see if the same behavior returns

Another Bootable Rescue CD to add to the list.

There is a better link for the Kaspersky Rescue CD: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208282173 . That got the download link to a daily updated Rescue CD. The one on the devbuild server is not updated that often.
