Title: AIS, shared folders and view issues
Post by: zanardi on June 07, 2010, 06:33:24 PM
I know this could sound a little strange, but... on a Windows XP with Avast Internet Security, we access a few shared folder on Windows server. We have a link to "\\server", then we can see all the shares.
Since the installation of AIS, one of this folders takes a very long time to open if it's seen in "List view" but not in "Icon view". How is that possible? I assure you i made a few tests and this is exactly what happen.
Of course behind every strange behaviour there always is a perfect logical explanation... please help me find what is it! :-)

Thank you for your time.

There's a known bug in avast sandbox, which could lead to delays in resolving of some objects (especially icons). I'm not sure if this is it, but you can try to uninstall "process virtualization" if it helps. After uninstall, please recheck in setup that this component was really uninstalled, thanks.

Removal of "Componente Virtualizzazione" (Italian translation) did the trick. I had no more issue after that.
Thank you for suggestion.
