Title: Avast 5.0 Stopped Working

Avast 5, Windows Vista

Been working fine for weeks.

As soon as you try to open the Avast User Interface, it hangs and a message Avast has stopped working comes up and prompts to close the program down.

Did an uninstall with the removal tool and a fresh install. Same problem.

It appears, unless you try to access the user interface, it behaves normally, including updates.

Any idea's?

Has it always done this since installing, or something that just happened recently?

Any new software installed, or software uninstalled recently?

What version of Avast 5 is it (current version is 5.0.594)
