Title: configure ipod with itunes help!

Just downloaded Avast! Free home edition version 5.0.94 and my ipod is not connecting to itunes. It is being recogized by my computer.

I have walked through every step that itunes has given on their troubleshooting website to help, yet the only recommended service that I cannot figure out is how to configure the security software to allow itunes to contact my ipod.

Can anyone help me figure this out?

Try this, open avast, settings, exclusions, browse for itunes and ipod or either, add to list.
These pgms and files will not be scanned and should allow total access
