Title: Avast5 ruined my recording by its message
Post by: Laverne on July 25, 2010, 10:16:42 PM
I was recording using my sound card and after 45 minutes, ugh! Avast announced the message that "the virus definitions have been updated." And, of course, this was on my recording. So, I went offline and started over on the next day.  Again, the same thing happened, only 32 minutes into my recording.  I thought if I was offline Avast couldn't update the definitions.  Please explain.

And please tell me exactly how to turn off the message (and any other sound) that the data base has been updated.
Thank you.

Disable the avast sounds into avast settings. You can do it any time...

But HOW did the Avast definitions update when I was offline?  My browser (IE and Firefox) wouldn't work, not would my email (OE).  I used a program called INetProtector to get offline.  Would you please explain.
