Title: odd message on avast symbol in tray....
Post by: CHARLIET on July 29, 2010, 01:05:17 PM
once again, thanks to all you who have helped this 'learner' do ok with some problems...because of the forum comments, i was able to uninstall and reinstall avast and also learn how to enter 'safe mode'....here's the lastest:  the avast symbol in the lower right 'tray', which until recently (following the successful new download of 5.0) showed 'your system is fully secured', now says 'attention, your system is not fully protected'....but when i go to the avast interface window, under 'summary' it clearly states 'your computer is fully secured'.....and when i check the realtime shields, they all say that they are running....but curiously, there is NO activity on the 'mail shield or 'behavior shield', none at all....what's going on??  charliet

CHARLIET,
Go to the Control Panel, then Add/ Remove, Select avast! then scroll down and choose Repair.
Reboot and your problems should be solved.  :)
