Hey, approximately 15 days ago, I decided to attempt a Boot-time scan with Avast.
Boot-time scan parameters:
Areas to scan: All harddisks, System drive
Heuristics sensitivity: Normal
PUPs: Checked
Unpack archive files: Checked
The scan reached 9 hours, then I decided to abort the scan. Is it unusual or common for Avast's Boot-time scan to take this long? Can I decrease the scan time to approximately the scan time of a Full system scan using the On-demand scanner? A Full-system scan on my computer takes slight more than 1 hour, iirc. It certainly does not take more than 2 hours.
In case anyone wonders, the scan was clean.

That seems very abnormal.
My last boot-time scan took just over an hour or so, maybe less.
I dare say there's certainly no reason for it to last anywhere near that long unless you were doing like a scan of a very large computer network or something.

How many GB do you have ?
How many archive files to unpack ?

My C: disk had approximately 5-6/62 GB of available disk space at the time I performed the scan.
My D: disk is a recovery partition with approximately 1/11 GB of available disk space.
I'm not sure how many archives there are to unpack nor do I know how to check.
