Title: Boot-scan ignores exclusion lists?
Post by: MikeBCda on August 05, 2004, 12:02:21 AM
Hi,

Couldn't find this anywhere in the Help, and a search here turned up a total blank.

If, as I do, you exclude a set of folders from a local-disks thorough scan (tons of JPG's in my case), am I correct in what I seem to have observed?  Specifically, if you schedule and run a boot-time scan, the exclusion list is ignored and all files are scanned?

Thanks and best,
Mike

Yes, you're right. Technically, this is because the boot-time scanner has no access to the storage where the global exclusion list is kept...

Speedy reply as always, thanks Vlk.  :)  I was pretty sure that's what happens (if not necessarily why), but I'm never quite sure if I'm really seeing what I think I'm seeing.  ;)

Vlk, can you please update (correct) the help files?
There is written that exclusion list affects 'all' parts of avast... except the boot time scanning  ;)
