Title: Checkmark certified ?
Post by: Waldo on July 07, 2003, 10:39:01 PM
Wouldn't it be a great thing to let AVAST!4.0 PRO run the "checkmark test" level 1 & 2 (maybe trojan checkmark also) to get another well respected certificate similar to ISCA's ?

I see vendors of Kaspersky are already certified, and many (well known) others also...

AVAST vendors please consider this test, and reward yourself with another price!

I agree!  This certification is a must!  As for the overhead costs of getting this certification?  Just think about the payoff.   Many new users would buy it and some using the free version may even purchase the pro version.  Hint hint!

Unfortunately, Virus Bulletin Magazine didn't give Avast high marks.

Overview
Result summary: 7 passes / 17 fails
Performance graph:  - Success / Failure / No Entry
Vendor website: http://www.avast.com/

I certainly do not agree with their findings.  I have personally found Avast to be a superb product.

It did get a VB100% award last June.

Actually, it was based on their passes for this year that I decided to give Avast a try.  I wasn't concerned about their past period of fails.  I was only concerned about the most current test.

The program is actually pretty good and the support rocks!

I was using PC-Cillin and that sorry thing kept crashing my PC.  When that subscription finally ran out I migrated over to this AV program.  Avast is a heck of a lot better than PC-Cillin.
