Title: Startup list
Post by: w0mbat on August 05, 2004, 06:25:53 AM
Any chance of getting a module that will allow the selection of what starts up at boot?

Not everything is easily found in the registry.

I have tries a few apps by adding them with the 'local path option' when making BART ISO, but none of them work as they are missing various needed files.

Thanks :)

Use msconfig or if you have 2k use startup.cpl (http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml)

Artras, msconfig won't work on BART CD (it operates on different files/registry hives).

w0mbat, good suggestion (pity it didn't come a bit earlier), it shouldn't actually be hard to implement. In fact I guess there's already code for that in the built-in virus cleaner...

Hi Guys,

I did mention it 'way back' when the wishlist was called for.

It's no biggie, but as I see it, BART has another 4-500 Mb worth of good ideas to go yet  ;D    ya ya.....  i was only kidding......

Code: [Select]
http://www.metaproducts.com/mp/mpProducts_Detail.asp?id=9 is something i have trialed and like. It even shows processes that startup.  Along these lines would be neat.

cheers :)
