Title: RPCSS.exe used by Avast?
Post by: pcb on July 08, 2003, 09:49:19 AM
Please can someone tell this Avast4 newbie whether Avast is using RPCSS.exe.
I have found this in my running processes, since installing the program. (I have never been aware of it before).
Windows 98se, Avast 4.0.235.

If it is being used by Avast-what for?

My thanks for any elucidation.

At least on XP system you can live without this process... I'm sure I'm living a long time without it  8)

When I used 98SE, I had my firewall block the process completely and never had any problems.
