Title: Just a question about my application (alpha stage)
Post by: !Donovan on October 10, 2010, 04:55:18 PM
Ok, I have worked on this for some time now, (Around 15 hours) and I want you to tell me if the layout is good or bad. The link is listed below, please give a description about why you rated the layout that out of ten. I would appreciate if you do this. Oh, and what your going to download is "Lucky Star Fan Edition". I made it using VB2008 and I hope that the final version will bring joy to some people. None of the buttons work yet, this is just the layout, OK?

Well without giving more info about what it is, or what it does, I doubt many people will even look at it...

And that is before I get the network shield block on the domain...no thanks...

Ok, I don't know how it got there but I guess Microsoft Security Essentials didn't detect a backdoor. Yeah, maybe this can explain my laptop sometimes locking up on me... >_<

At the very start of a quick scan, it found a infected item. O_O

I believe you can not run Microsoft Security Essentials with avast!

Windows Defender works fine on Windows 7 though.

I don't use Avast!, It's too big, I only have 150MB of free space. :P

Ah you don't use avast, yet you have the brass neck to come here and ask for help with your program. I guess you could ask for help on the MSE forum then :P

With only 150MB of space left you are not even going to be able to do a windows defrag as I believe that requires you have 15% free space. Once you get to less than 20% free space you should be looking at either archiving off unused applications, data, media, etc. to an external drive or upgrade your HDD.

This still applies, what does it do?

Look, the only reason I did it was to practice my coding in VB2008. :P

Anyways, as I said, all I want is a [bold]<!-- MAKE ME BOLD!!!!!!!! -->layout[/bold] review. What does layout have to do with product?

140 views and no replies, I'll just post on youtube...

Well ok, I misinterpreted your meaning...

Ok, so the layout is OK, fairly simple to understand. (to be fair though, I wouldn;t really know what a good layout is anyway...maybe some comparisons of other layouts? ;P)

Couple of things...

watch a opening --> should be watch an opening
watch a episode --> should be watch an episode
extras features --> should be extras features

In the extra features:

Button 35, will there be another button on that row, I think it would look better and keep the symmetry in the layout...just my opinion though...you may not even need another button...

As a side note, you are probably more likely to get responses on YT anyway...with the nature of this form being geared towards the AV etc...

I see that you are using:
c:\Program Files\Microsoft Security Essentials\MsMpEng.exe
C:\Program Files\McAfee Security Scan\2.0.181\SSScheduler.exe
O23 - Service: LiveUpdate - Symantec Corporation - C:\PROGRA~1\Symantec\LIVEUP~1\LUCOMS~1.EXE
O23 - Service: McAfee Security Scan Component Host Service (McComponentHostService) - McAfee, Inc. - C:\Program Files\McAfee Security Scan\2.0.181\McCHSvc.exe

With all those running on your system no wonder you are having problems.

Ok, updated the program.

Basicly, I gave a name to Button35, gave all of them links, edited the titles, solutions and tried to add 48 media players but then it said that I didn't have enough memory. >_>
