Title: False positive for HP driver

When I booted up today, Avast! gave a popup saying that hpqwmiex.exe was infected with W32Malware.gen. I had to move it to the chest. After that the Quick Launch buttons on the keyboard didn't work. Shortly after that Avast! updated itself and a scan of the file found nothing so I restored it. The buttons still wouldn't work even after a reboot. I had to uninstall the Quick Launch driver and reinstall it again to get functionality back. The file is not being detected as infected now but I thought I would post this anyway just for information and maybe to let people know how to get Quick Launch working again if they have encountered the same false detection.

hpqwmiex.exe is a process associated with HP ProtectTools security manager from Hewlett-Packard Development

There is no need to load them at boot time.

I read that but it's bull because without it loaded, the Quicklaunch Buttons do not work on a laptop.

I had exactly the same issue and, as yet, have not received an answer from support as to whether or not it is a false positive. Did anyone from Avast confirm to you that this is the case or are you assuming that because a further scan didn't flag the file after you restored it, it is indeed an F.P.? Thanks in advance.

I just assumed it was a FP and didn't bother submitting it since it seemed to be fixed.

Thanks for that. I restored the file and no further problems. Plus, support emailed me today confirming that it was indeed a false positive.

My program is also getting a false postive. I think the root of the problem is that autoit exes got flagged. This is a major problem for as well because I am getting emails with people worried about weather my program is safe.
