You can download the exe file from this site http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html?part=dl-85737&subj=dl&tag=button if you have about 55meg free on your memory stick, yes from library.

That may well take you to Cnet to do the download and I'm not sure if that doesn't just try to download a small setup file to do an on-line install, not much use from a library.
Here is a direct download link for the full installation file, this one is the English language only and may be smaller than the 55MB one, http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_free_eng.exe (http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_free_eng.exe) (English only).

It give's you the full setup file, cnet's where i got mine from and just installed it later, only have to go online to register after the install.

Thanks, before they used to only download the on-line installation, which I really couldn't see the point in. Most people would either have another AV installed in which case you wouldn't want to install another and going on-line with no AV protection to install is just crazy.

As long as you choose to save the file and not run you can install later :)
