Title: How to COMPLETLY stop scanning.
Post by: maddogf250 on October 23, 2010, 09:42:50 AM
I have a /system32/sinvft.dll file ALWAYS comes up as a Trojan and I have tried EVERYTHING to stop AVAST from scanning it at start up. This is a used computer I just purchased and I do NOT want to delete anything. It runs GREAT and I don't want to mess with it. Can you help me out?

Hi, maddogf250

You can exclude the file to avoid avast! scanning it from setting.

Open avast GUI -> Real Time Shield -> File System Shield -> click Expert Setting -> then Exclusion.

EDIT: Are you sure that file is not a virus? Can you upload it to www.virustotal.com to make sure it is clean file.

you can upload the file to www.virustotal.com and test it with 43 malwarescanners to see how many detect it or if it is just a false positive
when you have the result, copy the URL in the address bar and post it here

have you tried this

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.46 http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
always run update before you scan so you have the latest database
click on the remove selected button to quarantine anything found
please post the scan log here

and you do not have to delete, you move it to quarantine, then you can move it back if you need
But if it is malware, i would not have it running on my comp......

See http://www.threatexpert.com/files/sinvfct.dll.html (http://www.threatexpert.com/files/sinvfct.dll.html) and http://www.threatexpert.com/report.aspx?md5=d3180a3d01e329dffac8745748ab09c6 (http://www.threatexpert.com/report.aspx?md5=d3180a3d01e329dffac8745748ab09c6) and http://www.threatexpert.com/report.aspx?md5=36d8a421635fea64dc7adab0ca071a54 (http://www.threatexpert.com/report.aspx?md5=36d8a421635fea64dc7adab0ca071a54).

So you have some decisions to make, why is it on the system, when buying and old system, my advice would have been to start from a clean slate as you never know what you are inheriting.

At the very least it needs to be sent to virustotal for scanning.

It does not matter if the dll has the "c" or not as they are related to NetVizor keylogger anyway. It is not anything you would want on your personal computer and it should be removed.

See the link below for information about NetVizor Employee Monitoring Software :
