Title: side-by-side configuration

i just installed the free version of avasti.  I have a 64 bit windows 7 system. 

when
i click on the avasti icon,
i get the error message
"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect"
What can I do?

Try and restart and report back if its still there.

really? it is unnecessary to restart computer after installing avast. ???

Yes you should reboot after instaling avast.

If you have troubles,it may help,but i never had to restart computer for completing of installation.

It is absolutely necessary to reboot once you install avast, I believe it asks as part of the installation process. I can't remember as it is over 10 months since I installed it.

I would say you should reboot after installing any security application.
