Title: Disable System Restore Point
Post by: LoSt GhoSt on November 13, 2010, 07:14:30 PM
Hey guys,

I've been working on a laptop that is really messed up. I'm trying to install avast but when I do, it start to create a system restore point. My problem is that system restore isn't working. I can't disable it or create a point. So when avast tires to do so. It doesn't go any further then trying to create a restore point.

What do I do  ???

Thanks in advance

Jesse

That is strange as I have had system restore completely disabled for many years and avast hasn't had any issue with that.

Now disabling system restore isn't something to do unless you have something to replace its ability to restore your systems after problems; I do in the form of hard disk imaging software.

Check out these google hits and see if that can't repair system restore, http://www.google.com/search?q=repair+system+restore (http://www.google.com/search?q=repair+system+restore).
The first hit may well be enough, http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_can_I_repair_System_Restore (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_can_I_repair_System_Restore), otherwise you may have to dig into the Microsoft hits.
