Title: VNC cannot see Avast! windows
Post by: cooldiode on August 13, 2004, 08:59:46 AM
Hello.

Something funny (the first time), but boring after.

I use VNC to remotely control some specific machines (as my proxy PC for instance).

I experienced that skinned windows often are not naturally visible in the VNC client.
For instance, Ad-Aware is not visible till it has finished graphical effects and display a stable window.

Avast! (whith the standard blue skin) keeps always unvisible. The window commands work, but I've got to blindly find them !

Somebody found a solution ?  :D

Thankx,
Greetings

I'm afraid you cannot do anything about it right now. The next avast! update, however, will make it possible to switch off the Simple User Interface skins completely and use an "ordinary" window - that should work.

I use pcAnywhere and also UltraVNC and I never had such a problem. I see all skins in all programs without any problems. Which version of VNC you use ? Try updating to latest version.
