Title: Outlook Not Disconnecting From ISP
Post by: dado del miele on November 18, 2010, 06:43:09 AM
I use the e-mail account provided by my ISP.  I download my mail to Outlook 2003 SP3 periodically, deleting the messages off of the ISP server.  When I end my session, Outlook continues to pull the files from the ISP's server.  I cannot check new mail while away (remote) because the mail shoots right on past the ISP's site.   I did figure out I can go into task manager and kill Outlook after I close it, but that is obviously not the right solution.

This seems to have started when I added Avast! as my AV software (ver 5.0.677).  Outlook Detect & Repair did not find any errors. My guess is that this is related to Avast's MS Outlook Plug-In that starts up when Outlook opens.

I am on Windows XP SP3.
