Title: [RESOLVED]Avast blocks access to WWW when WWW protection is enabled!
Post by: St.Shadow on November 26, 2010, 09:31:18 AM
Hello

Since yesterday when I reinstalled my avast I am no longer allowed to use Chrome/Mozilla. When I disable WWW protection it runs smoothly, but I guess it is important part of protection.

Could anyone help me please? Been searching on forums but haven't found anything sufficient.

Much appreciated!!!

I use Win7 Ultimate x64 and the version of Avast is 5.0.677 Free.

Hello St.Shadow and welcome to the forum.

Why did you reinstall Avast?  Was there a problem?  If so, please describe?

Is Avast currently working -- all shields are up and running?  Is anything in the Virus Chest?  Have you done any scans recently?

It had be reinstalled because one of the dll files was removed. Avast stopped working and when I reinstalled it, the WWW protection revoked access to Mozilla and Chrome and IE.

Is there any way to add an exception of the files for example? To allow Chrome/Mozilla/IE working properly?

Thanks for your time.

Yoooooohooooo!

Problem has been solved out, for any glitches caused by WWW Shield protection use folling utility:
http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility)

Unistall antivirus, run following utility posted above, reboot, reinstall avast - all done

It is working!
