Title: Windows sounds gone with previous avast update

Hi

 :-[  Idiot here!  I have lost all my window sounds, they are still there in control panel, but the only ones working are the avast virus ones!

Any help please

Maybe you have to extract the files from your CD... They should be packed into some CAB or ZIP file...  ::)

Are the sound files still on your hd?

Yes all the sounds are still on my HD, I just cant get them into sounds in control panel.

Why not? Can't you associate a sound to any desired event?
I make a 'registry key' backup in order to 'upload' this settings if I miss them or change the computer...

Can you play the sounds in lets say Media Player or Winamp?
