Title: VMLite is not a rootkit.
Post by: bizzybody on December 13, 2010, 11:17:07 AM
VMLite is an alternative to running Windows XP Mode on Windows 7, plus it also runs on older versions of Windows.

What it is NOT, is any sort of a rootkit, in spite of Avast 4 attempting to claim so and wanting to delete some of its driver files.

If you are still using Avast 4, you may also want to consider upgrading to Avast 5.0 since the support for 4.0 will be ending shortly after the end of the year.  Avast 5.0 is much quicker and lighter on resources as well.   Let us know if you have any additional questions.  Thank you.
