Hi
Am running version 5.0.677
As you can see I have selected silent mode:

Imagine my negative thoughts then when I got the update message loud and clear at 2.45 AM bet my neighbours just loved it :-|
Can anyone please tell me how to turn these voiced alerts off please?
Thanks

Not sure why it would still display sound on Silent Mode... but, another way to disable sounds is to go to Settings in the upper right. Then click on the Sounds tab on the left panel. There you should be able to adjust accordingly.

Many thanks :)
I disabled Avast sounds - hopefully I will still get a visual display if Avast needs to alert me to anything?

You're welcome, Ric. :)
You will still get visual displays even if the sound is turned off, as long as Silent Mode is disabled.

Silent mod means that avast! won't show any pop-up messages like malware blocked or virus database updated. Sounds can be disabled like colleague tell you.

where do you get iNews?

where do you get iNews?
It is at the bottom of the avastUI, Summary tab, see image.

Cannot find It. Maybe only in ENG version? ???

I don't know if it is language specific, but if it is included it should be in the same location on the avastUI.
You may have to scroll down to see it as I did in my image.
