Hi ,
I had the internet sharing problem with avast, but i have found a solution and would like to share it.
I had Kaspersky antivirus installed, i changed to Avast! and suddenly my internet sharing stoped working, i searched the internet but all users solved it by re-installing the older version (v.4xx), this was not a solution, so i kept trying to solve this problem until i found it and would like to share it.
I have Avast 5.0.677 .
1- Go to the Avast! user interface

2- Click on "firewall" on the left menu

3- Choose home low risk zone

4- Then click on Expert Settings , to the right of the "Start" and "Stop" buttons.

5- Put a tick next to the "Internet Connection Sharing Mode" phrase

6- Then Click on Packet Rules Button

7- The first rule is disabled "Windows Networking", put a tick to enable it and choose In/Out for direction.

8- Click ok and close everything
Now internet sharing should work fine.
