am a right in thinking when connected to the net avast looks for updates every 4 hours?. if this is the case , is it possible to change this to look for updates every hour?.
on a different note how can i upload a picture from my hardrive to use on my profile.

It looks for updates every 4 hours,but it also checks the very moment when you connect to internet. So its when you connect to net and after that every 4 hours. You can also lower this value with my avast! External Control tool (avast! Tweaker function),but its not advisable since it makes a bit more load on Alwil update servers.

This setting could not be available in the future if users abuse of it... Alwil servers could, in theory, be 'attacked' by a lot of requirements (but I think the number of updates will have to increase a lot until this occur ;D)
You can see 'Settings' on my signature for more 'tweaks'. ;)
About the avatar (or picture in profile), you can't upload. It must be on a website just to be linked... Ok, it could be in this forum and then you make a link to it 8)

just thought , you guys should use intervals above 3hrs ,
in minutes and it should be in prime numbers :) (ie 181, 191, 193, 197, 199, 211 ...) ;D

Hi Adam,
If you haven't got a website or webspace that you can upload your image to, you can get some free space at PhotoBucket (http://photobucket.com/) and upload you picture there.

Doesn't really matter. If you use my AEC tweaker predefined settins,everything should be ok. 24h is always choped in the same sized pieces ;) (except once per day/week).

Just FYI, in the Home Edition, any value lower than 2 hours is ignored (that it, the value 2 hours is used intead in this case...).

Thanks for posting Vlk... This allow me to update the Understanding avast4.ini file
(http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1647) thread and make easier the tweak of avast.
