Is there going to be a native 64-bit build of upcoming Avast 6.0?
Many AV vendors have a native 64-bit build of theirs products (e.g. Microsoft Security Essentials, Comodo Internet Security), but Avast Software doesn't have.
It's a bad argument to say that the 64-bit versions are not useful, because 32-bit builds still works. We all would still using 16-bit software, if your bad argument would be valid.
I need 64-bit build of Avast.
P.S. It would also nice, if you get rid of Flash Player usage in Avast 6.0.
Sorry about bad english.

Hi user_1000,
no, there will be no 64-bit build of avast 6, at least not initially.
Also, your argument about 16-bit software on 32-bit Windows doesn't really apply (for multiple reasons).
It's not like we're against a full 64-bit build, but frankly, it ranks fairly low on our list of things we want to do... (or we feel are useful/necessary).
Thanks

I always wonder with these requests, what is the (perceived?) benifit to be achieved by having avast! fully 64 bit compared to now?

That was just only a hypothetical example.

Well, anyways thanks for your fast response.
Cheers.

Well, the argument is not just that the 32bit build still works... but that the 64bit build doesn't have any real benefits.
