Title: false positiv in NetOp Remote 7.65?
Post by: vip2002 on August 27, 2004, 11:17:08 PM
Since the latest update of the database avast says netop remote 7.65 is infected by a: Win32:Trojano-279[Trj]

This seems to be a false positive. Is this correct or does anybody know something about this trojan?

I cleaned my system and afterwards i installed the actual version from Netop Website. During the process of installation avast declares two files as infected by the trojan.  Therefore i think this is a false positive because likely there is a great match in remote Software and a trojan.

Please zip and password protect the suspect file and email it to virus @ avast.com. (remove the spaces)

Put the password in the body of the email, give a brief explanation of the alert and let them know you believe it could be a false positive.

This will be checked and if false an update to the VPS can be actioned.

You can also check the file against one of the online scanners, see RejZor's Website - Security Ops for a list of  On-line Virus Scanners Security.Ops.tk (http://www.security-ops.tk)

Hi,

Virus database just been updated again (twice on 27th August) so I am guessing they may have fixed the false detection.

Try scanning the file again?

Cheers

Jlo

No more trojan report with this database, thanks.
