Title: Question regarding screen saver
Post by: sid1996 on January 17, 2011, 01:34:06 AM
I've got a question regarding the Avast screen saver scan. We're using Avast 5.0 Professional, and I like the screen saver scan. But lately I sometimes get two different boxes above the standard screen saver. Besides the usual blue "DOS-eque" box which moves around, I sometimes get a box in the lower right corner that looks like the standard UI. The second box doesn't always appear and it never appears right away. My questions are the following.

What is the reason for the second box? It does show some additional information, but if that was the reason, it seems like it would be better to combine all the information in one box.

Is there a setting where I can configure the appearence (old vs new) of the screen saver that I've missed?

And finally, why does it appear so seemingly random?

Regards,
Tobias

I'm not sure what you mean by the second box... would it be possible to upload a screenshot?
(since it won't be possible to take the usual screenshot without interrupting the screensaver, it might be necessary to take a snapshot of the monitor with a camera, for example)

Sure. I'll take a photo the next time it happens (as I stated above, it doesn't always happen). Thanks.

Attached is a screenshot of how it looks. You see the usual blue box in the middle of the screen and the other box in the lower right corner.

I also attached a close up of the other box.

Hopefully you can shed some light as to the purpose of the second box.

Tobias

OK, I see.. that doesn't look right  ;D
Probably a bug in the program, I'll let it checked.
