Title: Avast Icons.

For some reason Avast has taken over my Volume Control icon and I now have two Avast icons in my Task Bar. Rebooting corrects this for a while. How do I correct this?

Hello Ted and welcome to the forum.

Please try an Avast Repair:
- Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > Avast Antivirus.
- Scroll down and choose Repair function in the pop-up window.
- Reboot.

PS:  You may want to hide your email.  After hiding it, only you and the Moderators can see it.  ;)

Thank you for your suggestion which I will try. However, as it's intermittent, it may be a while before I know if it's cured or not.

I had the same problem on my XP Pro system and I had to do the following:
System Tray Icon Missing from System Tray in Windows XP
