A client installed a program update to 5.1.889 Monday, and at the reboot the windows flag hangs. No getting past. 6 hours later I have the PC setup again and the last program installed was avast, and at the next reboot system hangs at the windows flag screen again. I was able to boot to the last known good configuration. Installed 5.1.889 and put an older version (unsure of the version) and all was fine.
Now same location, one of the other agents didn't get the memo...DO NOT UPDATE AVAST. and has the exact same symptom, but has already tried several reboots, so "last know good configuration" does not get him to the desktop.
I have avast PRO. I have sold over 100 licenses of avast over the past 2 years, and now I'm questioning my decision to do so.
Any resolution to get back to the desktop?
Will not boot in safe mode, or any mode.
