Title: Avast 5 is running in 32bit mode on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
Post by: natas1 on February 18, 2011, 05:52:15 PM
Hi,

I have Windows 7 Pro x64 and the latest AVAST 5 installed. Both are fresh installs.

When I pull up the Task Manager I notice that "AvastUI.EXE" and "AvastSvc.exe" are both running in 32bit mode (*32 is appended to the name).

Is this normal!?

Am I missing the 64 bit version of files!? If so, how can I get them!?

Thanks in advance.

There are almost no applications that are truely 64 bit.
Most are 32 bit and some even still 16 bit.
Even Windows 64 bit versions are for the most part 32 bit.
