When I unistall IObit Security 360
which program do you recommend me for spyware, adware, trojans, keyloggers, bots, worms, hijackers and protect, but that is a free program that does not conflict with Avast free
or that  program has some kind of protection that are missing avast free.

I use avast free and  iobit security 360 free for two years and never had any problems that I had to reinstall windows

Use free Mbam for a second opinion: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Everything else is pretty well covered by avast. ;)

i too have a similar problem
Hi ,
I am using avast! Free antivirus
program version 5.1.889 , virus definitions version 110118-0,registred on 6/6/2010
I am using a dial up connection. The program as well as the virus def database were updated more or less regularly.
Recently I noticed the orange icon at the bottom of my desktop showing a ‘caution sign’ on it. When I opened the avast!
User interface I saw a message
“ ATTENTION .Your system is not fully protected………..”
and so on.
“URGENT.Network shield off!”
I tried all open buttons (‘fix now’, ‘turn on’ etc…) but found useless. The following message was displayed!
(http://C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\av)
I am also pinning a snapshot of my status of network shield!
(http://C:\Documents and Settings\user\Desktop\av)
(Btw, I tried the ‘start button’ also).
It seems that this shield was not at all running since installation.
How can I run that?
Please help!
My PC runs on
Windows XP professional /version 2002/ service pack 2/
INTEL CORE 2 CPU 4400 @ 2.00 GHz / 2.00 GHz,0.99 GB of RAM
I am attaching a ‘Hijack This’ -log file.

I think what I've been noticing is the same thing. Running on XP Pro with a DSL Router.

At times, usually at first power-up in the morning, I get the "!" avast icon warning.  If I check, it's the "Network Shield" not running.  Attempts to start it by hand fail.  After a while though, I see the green "Data base updated" pop-up.  The "!" goes away and the Network Shield is started.

Note: I have "AlwaysConnectedWaitSeconds=120" in avast5.ini because the system often starts before the DSL Router connects.  If that means anything?

This is not the worst thing in the world, but annoying.

Thanks
Bob

Oh yah, Is there a link anyware to the Complete Uninstaller for V6?  I have it for V5.

Um....  That one's (free one) much bigger than the one you get from cnet the website http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download sends you to.

Any known reason?

I downloaded from the CNet link first and was served the English only version.  The links I provided for the Avast installers are the universal installers and contain many different languages.  Note the difference in the file names.

I know this requires a new post but I'm short on time.  FYI: WebRep shows as 2 Plug-ins in IE8.  I uninstalled it.

Also: no rating for even Google.com yet.  I guess to be expected?

It appears that the WebRep server is down right now.  WebRep is even greyed out on this forum at the moment.  It was green with many votes earlier.

After "Upgrading" to V6 with the V5 UI, Things got worse.  Every boot would result in the "!" in the tray.  But, all services were running,  I would always have to manually stop one, any one, and restart it, to get rid of the "!".

Since every thing in "Program Files" and "Application Data" still looked like avast5, I did a complete uninstall using aswclear5.exe in Safe Mode.  "Application Data\Allwill\Avast5" and all it's contents was still left, so I whacked it by hand.

I reinstalled Avast6 from scratch and re-registered.  Seems to be working much better, so far, after 4 or 5 reboots.  I now have a new "C:\Program Files\AVAST Software" directory, with "\Avast" in it.  There is also a new "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVAST Software\Avast" with an Avast5.ini in it that's a bit strange.  Left over from V5?

WebRep still kinda works sometimes, and installs 2 IE plugins with the same name.  I have it uninstalled right no.  Maybe I'll try it again later.  So far it's just frustrating.

We'll see. :-)
