Sorry I don't have an addy for it, but it should be an easy one to find -- the weekly one from Trend Micro (the HouseCall people).  Usually Friday evenings, plus they'll issue additional special alerts when necessary.

Thanks, Neal. I'm taking a look into it and seems very usefull.
Mike, are virus alerts from TrendMicro usefull? I mean, if I use avast and it is updated, why I can do more?

Any other suggestions?  8)

From a practical security standpoint, you probably don't gain much if anything -- it's usually a tossup as to whether you get the Trend special-alert or an avast update first.

But the newsletter's handy for learning what's currently in the wild, especially if it's a new variant, and where in the world it's currently most prevalent.

And better yet, info on how the virus transmits and/or causes damage, so you know what kind of danger signs to watch for.  This in particular (something like Trend's "encyclopedia") is something many of us would like to see from Alwil too, but I guess is beyond Alwil's available manpower and other resources.
