Title: [SOLVED Avast 6 Free] WebRep with IE 8 issue
Post by: Zyndstoff (aka Steven Gail) on February 24, 2011, 08:22:41 AM
Hi there, guys.

Installed Avast 6 yesterday through GUI update from 5.1.889, everything went smooth.

One funny thing though:
Firefox is my default browser, the WebRep plugin installed and it works, the Avast GUI says: "Plugin installed"  :D
For the IE 8 plugin the Avast UI says "Not installed". When I click on "Install" in the GUI, I end up with an error message from Avast stating it cannot be installed. However, when I open the IE, the WebRep shows up and is working correctly as far as I can see...  ???  :o

This is on Win 7 x64 Pro (SP 1).

Anyone know this symptom or has a solution? It seems that everything is working correctly except that the GUI is not showing the true status of the IE 8 WebRep...

Thx

Fixed.

Did a repair installation of Avast 6, rebooted, installed IE8 Plugin.

Everything as it should be now.
