Dear Avast team,
What is the planned update pop-up notification roll-out for Avast 6? Are you going to be doing another 6.XX or two before the notifications? I know Avast 5 had about a 24 hour release time with updates spread out over 7 days to minimize server overload. Can we expect the same with version 6, or say a longer 1-2 month window because of the version being brand new?
It seems the manual rollouts are doing great! MUCH better than when Avast 5 was first introduced! How long will version 5 be available?

Oh man... They haven't even closed avast version 4.8... Seems version 6 deploy could wait... Not that I want it, of course.

I miss 4.8 and the ability to skin the GUI, I especially miss the LCARS skin :'(

LOL!!!! Yea, I heard 4.8 is still out there. I think support ends this month or next month.

It would be nice if they put in a popup so people could confirm the were installing a whole new version before it took off installing.

The full v6 rollout will take at least a few months... up to 6 months would be my estimate.
Thanks

Ondrej,
You mean that mostly related to the business users, or in general ???
Greetz, Red.

I mean in general.

Thinking about it twice I understand :)

Vlk, why is it so slow?
Why didn't you drop version 4.8? Why the business versions is taking so long?
If you can disclose these informations, of course.
-
Tech, part of the answer is in Vlk's presentation as you are aware off, and I can understand that ;)
Greetz, Red.
-
Ok, but I wasn't there... I don't know the reasons of this (very slow) movement...
-
I don't know either why. But there is a time schedule, and I think we should trust on that :)
Greetz, Red.

It's not a matter of trust. Not at all.
Curiosity, trying to understand the software development, understand the company and the market, it's more a personal desire of me, trying to learn and grow at avast forums.
-
Well, we both know when Avast! plans to roll out their 6.0 business product, so I can understand Ondrej's aswer to this ;)
Greetz, Red.

Red, I'm not following you, not that I can see that Vlk answered my questions, I mean, I think I'm not answered at all...
-
Maybe it is better we discuss this in private ??? You know my email address :)
