Title: Resident Scanner

Hi

My resident scanner is set on disabled, and I don't know how to change that.  Everytime I set it to standard it just goes back to disabled.  I also don't have an avast icon in the tray at the bottom of my screen by the clock.  I looked through the settings menu but didn't see anything that would change this.  Can anyone help me out?

Which is your operational system?
Did you try to repair your avast installation (Control Panel > Add/Remove programs)?
Do you have (or had in the past) any other antivirus installed in your system?
