i wanted to try firefox 4 beta in my system using avast sandbox.. so i ran the setup of firefox-sandboxed and installed it, after installation firefox couldnt be started, and avast sandbox settings said "0 kb used by sandbox" . can v run only installed prog in avst sandbox, cant v install anything into it and use, like in sandboxie?

I don't think you can install something in the Avast Sandbox. It's not a complete virtual machine.
That is not what it was made for.
-
if i get a suspicious setup which will/may install spyware , then avast sandbox will be of no use in this situation ?
-
That is, as far as I know, true.
The installer file however will be scanned by other shields anyway and any malware should be detected during download, storage and/or accessing the file.
Again, the Avast sandbox is not a virtual machine. You may want to use something like http://www.virtualbox.org/ (http://www.virtualbox.org/) if you really want to install and test something in a virtual environment.

Okay thanks .

You may also want to check Sandboxie (http://"http://www.sandboxie.com/").
You can, as far as I know, install into sandboxie.
