Title: Build 1027: Questions for users with Firefox WebRep issues
Post by: k.u.r.t on March 15, 2011, 05:09:01 PM
I would like to ask those of you who claim that WebRep has disappeared from their systems with the latest build to answer these questions for us:

1. What system are you running (XP/Vista/7)
2. 32/64 bit?
3. Can you see the add-on in Firefox's list of add-ons? This can be located under Tools > Add-ons. Firefox 4 users need to press F10 first to see the menu bar.
4. Can you see the following key in registry?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions\wrc@avast.com
(64bit systems)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions\wrc@avast.com
(32bit systems)
5. If so what is its value?
6. Could you zip the contents of the directory from step 5 and post it here?

Guys, even if it weren't too large you can't attach archive files only .txt and .log files.

There is also no point in changing the file type (to one of the above) to be able attach it as in the forum saving it as a txt file would corrupt the archive.

Hi k.u.r.t :)

With the next update can you please tell us ( who have this problem ) how to update ( from the GUI / installer / clean install ). I prefer not to go back with a previous image if it is not needed :)

The update should be seamless. Simply running the installer will overwrite the existing installation with the new one which will fix the issue. The problem was that other localizations that the plugin now references were not included in the setup by mistake. The usual human factor case ...

Any time frame when this is likely to be in the next pre-release refresh or regular program update ?
