Title: Questions about avastrelay
Post by: bbell2000 on September 19, 2004, 01:20:39 PM
I'm using avastrelay with qmail.  What happens to scanned mails when a virus is detected?  Are they quarantined somewhere?  Is a bounce message generated?  Or are they just discarded?

Is there an alternate method of integrating avast with qmail?  Say, piping the email to the command line scanner so I can detect success/failure and generate an appropriate bounce message when a virus is detected?

By default, the email is discarted. You can also setup avastrelay to return it back to a sender or(and) send virus notifications.
The avastrelay doesn't support piping email at the moment.
