Title: Avast Gadget Won't Go Away
Post by: bunneh on March 18, 2011, 03:47:13 AM
In the last update, every time I turn on my computer I get the little Avast gadget pop up in my sidebar.  I've searched through the settings, and even uninstalled it from my Windows Gadgets and it still pops up every time.  How do I disable it?

Thanks in advance!

Control panel -> Programs and Features -> avast! -> Change -> uncheck the box "avast! gadget"

Thank you I appreciate it!  Perhaps in the next version there could be an option in the program itself to disable it

It's already there, just clicking the X button on the gadget should work, also right-clicking and uninstalling via the gadget gallery should work. If it doesn't for you, then it's most likely caused by upgrade from old avast! version.

It is available in the new Pre-Release version of Avast 6.0.1027. Remember this is basicly a beta build, so don't use it if you are not familiar with testing beta software ;)

No problem, glad I could help.

As has been mentioned this has been resolved on internal program builds and pre-release version. Now you have it resolved that shouldn't be an issue so no real need to go to the pre-release version.
