May I give a suggestion?
Try either (I think they are better than Ad-aware 6 Build 181):

SpywareBlaster 2.6

They run smotly on the system (XP Pro) and have much more features than the free version of Ad-aware. By the way, they are free too!  ;)

There not better, they just check for different things...The things AD-aware doesn't found , are detected by SPY-Bot and visa versa. The signature files of both include many same detections, but there are some differences. It's always better to have a layered defense anyway.

So..the best protection is offered using AD-aware and SPY-bot together. (wich I do for a long time now)

They WON'T interfier with each other. as they don't have any "residents guards" running! (in the free versions although)

And to run them on regular basis with updated sign.

You are right! I run both programs too...  :) and I thing they give me enought protection against Spywares. Thanks.

I run all the programs mentioned along with SpywareGuard 2.1 (http://www.geocities.com/ggmartau/download/download.html). I've used it since v1.2 without any conflicts with avast home.

It provides a real-time scanner to stop spyware like ad-watch but it's free. It also now includes browser hijack protection & download protection for those that use IE.

Ok. I´m using the three programs above (SpyBot, Spyware Blaster and avast 4.0). Everything works fine. XP Pro 256Mb RAM.  :)
