Title: does it scan while i download?

i just got norton today and i was downloading from kazaa and it told me while i was downloadign that the file had a virus does avast thing do that?

It includes an option to add p2p to it's on on access protection and I believe Kazaa is one of the programs included.
However, I don't have the p2p protection enabled but avast still informed me I had a virus when downloading from Shearaza.
So in short, yes, it should do.

Sure!
There is just one thing that Norton does that avast can't: mess your Windows Registry and crash your computer  ;D

Sure!
There is just one thing that Norton does that avast can't: mess your Windows Registry and crash your computer  ;D

good, norton kept messing up my computer today, so im getting avast!

Just one bit of advice. Click on the link in my signature and get the Norton uninstall program. Just using add/remove doesn't get rid of norton from the computer. Norton must be completely removed before you can install Avast!.

Odd, I have a Friend whos got Norton and it hasnt crashed his XP machine at all and his comp doesnt run slow at all  ???
