The thing sitting between the chair and the computer...

Honestly, you will not get a real answer here, or at anyother vendor forum, Obviously.

The "Best" antivirus is a very subjective thing that encompasses different things for different people.
That means that reasons for why this is better than that will be different and people will not always agree.

It is up to you to make the choice of what is best for you.

I would suggest you to have a look at Quick heal Total Security 2011 or Kaspersky PURE.
But if you want the best then its avast! Internet Security 6.0.1035  ;D

I would have to say that the best anti virus and security suites are the ones that the person that has them on their computer feels the most comfortable with...For example...I tried the Kaspersky suite with their firewall and all..and I was totaly disappointed with the Kasersky Interfaze...Was very unorganized and hard to find anything...There was scans under firewall menu, shields under scans menu, and I found it very heavy on the resources....Further more I use Revo Un installer...And my Revo kept finding tons of files in my Temp Folders everytime I would clean junk files with it...I mean almost a gigabyte of junk stored temp folders...Tried AVG security was always having trouble updating and loading scans would freeze etc. etc.  Alvira wasn't too bad but I didn't care for their pop up to upgrade all the time and it didn't give me as many options and Shields and was very unorganized...I also tried different firewalls and Comodo was suppose to be the best, but I find that most of those Firewalls screw up my services and before you know it I get major issues...I guess if I had more time to play with different firewalls I would set them up properly and be fine....So Basically this answer all depends on what you prefer how you surf the net, what your computer limitations are, how much time and what software you have st up on your machine...and feel the most comfortable with...What good is a software firewall if it isn't set properly or if an average  user uses an advanced firewall thats "supposedly the best out there", and allows everything on it, or screws up the permissions....I guess he would be much more safer without the software firewall than.. .....Just my 2 cents...
   Cheers and Safe Furfing!!!
